Electrical and Electronic Engineering is an exciting and dynamic field. Electrical engineers are responsible for the generation, transfer and conversion of electrical power, while electronic engineers are concerned with the transfer of information using radio waves, the design of electronic circuits, the design of computer systems and the development of control systems. These sought-after engineers can look forward to a rewarding and respected career. VIET is the first college of Rajasthan which introduced the Electrical And Electronics Engineering branch. The students in this branch study the main(core) subject related to both Electrical and Electronics. EEE department is committed to generating, disseminating, and preserving knowledge, and to working with others to bring this knowledge to bear on the world's great challenges.

Q. What is the scope of electrical and electronics engineering in india and after acquiring a B.Tech degree?
|
Ans.: Graduates in Electrical and Electronics Engineering have opportunities in Government and private companies for installation, operation and maintenance of electronics and electrical equipments and systems. Defense, space and other large research organizations employ electrical and electronics engineers in design and development of complex devices and systems for signal processing and telecommunication, power stations for generation of power, electrical machines etc.

Laboratory
|
The college has excellent infrastructure to carry different labs. Laboratories are equipped with the latest technology equipments. The concepts of design automation are followed in every field of engineering. Digital control system labs are essential for the current industrial centers. Students are exposed to Mat Lab and Lab View development environment as per the current industrial requirements.

All the experiments in the laboratories are updated and obsolete ones are removed regularly. The students are expected to keep pace with the technological developments and equip themselves with the latest in the field.
Laboratory sessions are given utmost importance at VIET. All the students are expected to be regular and learn the practical aspects of the subject and develop the necessary skills to become professionals.
In order to facilitate interaction among the students and develop team spirit, the students are expected to carry out experiments in groups. The students should come prepared for each laboratory class. The students are expected to:

- Read and understand the theory behind the experiment in advance
- Come to the lab in time with prescribed uniform for the lab and
- Bring the practical note book

Assignment, Projects and Seminars
|
Students are continuously assessed throughout the course and due weight-age for this is given in the final assessment. Assignments / Projects / Seminars by students form part of continuous evaluation for both theories as well as lab classes. Faculty members inform the students about the topics and due dates for the assignment / project / seminar well in advance and motivate the students to complete in time. Evaluation for these will be based on the following:

The students of VIET have shown the brilliant power of invention by inventing a device which not only saves the electricity but is also helpful for security agencies.
This project was also demonstrated in ‘HASTSHILP UTSAV 2012’, at Ravan ka chabutra, Jodhpur.

Classroom Teaching

Qualified faculty members assigned with various theory subjects prepare course plans using the standard format provided by the institute with emphasis on 'learning' of the students. The lectures lay emphasis on the following:
- Knowledge content (topics in the curriculum)
- Utility value - application in real life
- Latest developments
The classroom sessions will be interactive and will encourage the students to think independently and inspire their creativity. High level of discipline will be maintained in the classroom. The faculty members are empowered to curb any disturbance and ensure that the time is used fruitfully.
Classroom instructions may be supplemented by students' presentations and / or guest lectures by external/internal experts.
