Department of Periodontics

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
Department of Periodontology has a total Area of 5476.55 sq. ft. with 35 fully functional dental chairs and all latest and required equipments. It consists of a UG and a PG clinic with an area of 2025.32 sq. ft. & 1145.66 sq ft. respectively. A central sterilization room takes care of overall sterilization and disinfection of instruments, materials, working area and laundry. Department has latest audiovisual facilities and free access to the high speed internet. The goal of the Department is to provide the undergraduates with a strong educational foundation in Periodontology for their future careers in Dentistry and to contribute new knowledge through basic and clinical research in Periodontics.

The department offers a postgraduate training program of three years, which is approved by the Dental Council of India. The Department of Periodontics offers clinical knowledge and understanding of the genesis, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of periodontal disorders.The utilization of cutting-edge tools such as the PRF machine, Prime Implant system, LASER, Surgical Microscope, Ridge Augmentation Kits, Sinus Elevation Tools, Electro Cautery, and VISTA and tunneling Kit is encouraged for both graduate and undergraduate students.The Department's mission is to further knowledge in periodontology through scientific and clinical research periodontics and to give undergraduate and graduate students a well-grounded educational foundation in the field for their future careers in dentistry.
