DEPARTMENT OF ORTHODONTICS & DENTOFACIAL ORTHOPEDICS. • ORTHODONTICS & DENTOFACIAL ORTHOPEDICS is a branch of dentistry, which is concerned with the treatment and correction of facial, in particular dental & it’s supporting hard and soft tissues. • In our department we have been advocating orthodontic treatment with the state of art material. We are practicing fixed orthodontics, using the MBT, BEGG and the tip edge technique. We are also using modern system such as self ligating, aligners, temporary anchorage devices. We are extensively treating our patients with the latest myofunctional appliances as well as using fixed functional appliances like the Forsus etc. • We are inculcating to our under graduate students the importance of orthodontic treatment using the best teaching aids available. They are taught the various removable orthodontic appliances, both theoretical and hands’ on.
